I am very proud and grateful to serve as the president of the Board of Directors for Lao Family Community of Minnesota, Inc. On behalf of the organization, I welcome you to our web site today. This website is designed to give you as much information as possible about our organization and its services.

As board president, I will work hard to ensure that Lao Family’s services continue by making sure that Lao Family's mission stays focused on the current demands of our community. My vision is to improve the organization's image as follows:
  • Maintain our Hmong heritage, culture and leadership
  • Maintain our positive image with the mainstream government entities that underwrite our programs
  • Increase community support and participation
  • Find and develop a Hmong center for Hmong events

In addition to our range of services, Lao Family also hosts the annual Sports Tournament during the 4th of July weekend. This is the largest Hmong gathering in the world. This year's event will be held on June 30 to July 1, 2007 at Como Park in St. Paul. The New Year celebration, traditionally held over the Thanksgiving holiday weekend, is an important event of the Hmong in Minnesota. I would like to invite everyone to join us in these wonderful community events.
