English Education Programs: COLLABORATIONS Lao Family English Education Programs works collaboratively with many other community organizations. Examples include: St. Paul Community Literacy Consortium, to improve the quality and availability of adult literacy services, St. Paul Early Literacy and Language Collaborative, St. Paul Schools Admission Possible, Upward Bound, Minnesota Association for Family and Early Education, St. Paul’s Second Shift Initiative, and Hands-on-English publications. Relationships have also been developed with school districts, human services departments, voluntary agencies that sponsor refugees, police departments, mental health professionals, and other refugee organizations which enable Lao Family staff to promote service coordination while assisting program participants in gaining access to needed services. |
