English Education Programs: FAMILY ENGLISH SCHOOL The Family English School is an integrated literacy program for low-income parents with limited English proficiency and their preschool children, ages 2-1/2 to 5. The children take part in free play, story time, arts and crafts, and other culturally-specific learning activities aimed at developing the skills needed to be successful in a school environment. At the same time, parents receive intensive English instruction and classes in parenting and life/employment skills. Parent-child interaction time helps parents understand their role as their children's first teachers. |
