WELCOME!
Lao Family Community of Minnesota, Inc., the oldest Hmong serving organization in Minnesota, in conjunction with Good Reason Consulting received federal funding in 2002 to study adolescent pregnancy in the Hmong community.

The primary goal of the project was to increase understanding of the attitudes and behaviors regarding adolescent sexuality among youth, parents, and leaders in the Hmong population in Ramsey County, Minnesota and establish baseline data. A multi-pronged approach was taken to address these goals. This approach included a review of the literature, secondary data analysis of Minnesota birth record data, interviews, focus groups, survey data, and curriculum development.

This research was supported by grant #H1DMC00196-01 from the Maternal and Child Health Bureau of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services to Lao Family Community of Minnesota, Inc.

Funding for this website came from The Blue Cross Blue Shield Foundation of Minnesota.
